Hippius Subnet Launches Public Beta, Extends Bittensor Decentralized Storage Capabilities
On March 27. 2025. @mogmachine posted a tweet on the X platform announcing that the Hippius subnet (@hippius_subnet), a subnet within the Bittensor network focused on providing decentralized storage solutions, has officially entered public beta. The screenshot accompanying the tweet shows Hippius’ file storage interface, displaying key metrics such as file size and retrieval time, demonstrating its support for secure, scalable data storage for AI applications.

The launch of Hippius is in line with the mission of Bittensor, a decentralized AI platform that incentivizes innovation in subnets through $TAO tokens, to democratize the AI infrastructure through decentralized technology.The public beta of Hippius provides users with test credits to get more information and participate in the test via a provided link. This initiative is in line with the innovative practices of other sub-networks within the Bittensor ecosystem, such as Score and Zeus, which together are driving the adoption of decentralized technologies in different domains.
In a subsequent response, @mogmachine further demonstrated the capabilities of Hippius, including browsing detailed metrics for each miner, such as storage capacity and infrastructure performance. This shows that Hippius is not only focused on storage, but also on improving transparency and user experience, and the public beta of Hippius is considered the “tip of the iceberg”, suggesting that more features may be introduced in the future to further enhance the storage capabilities of the Bittensor ecosystem.
